Bonus video: Slow TV canal cruise

This is the unedited ‘bow camera’ view of my recent trip on a narrowboat on the Gloucester & Sharpness canal, without voiceover and with just natural sound.

Bonus video: realtime canal cruising (Slow TV)

This is a bonus video, not a vlog or suchlike but the bow-camera recording as narrowboat Nautilus Enterprise cruised from Crick Marina to Yelvertoft while we filmed for video #322. There is intentionally no commentary, just the sounds from the (electric) boat.

Bonus video: realtime canal cruising

This is a bonus video, a “not-a-vlog” realtime recording of the first part of my journey taking Twiggy the cabin cruiser from Ashwood Marina down the Staffs & Worcs canal towards Stourport, in this video reaching Stewponey Lock.

Bonus video: Slow TV cruise

This is not a vlog, there’s no talking or music (deliberately) – it is a “slow TV” uninterrupted recording from the bow camera of the electric day-hire boat seen in video 293 doing the return journey from Tamhorn Farm Bridge to Kings Orchard Marina on the Coventry canal near Lichfield.

223A: Slow TV (not a vlog)

Posted on August 17, 2020February 24, 2024 by David Johns

It’s not a vlog this week but instead one of my occasional “slow TV” real-time recordings from the bow camera, with super stereo audio from the microphone also on the bow. This is my trip from above Gailey down to Autherley with only one tiny edit where I had to change the camcorder battery.

219A Slow TV: Fradley to Handsacre

I know some folk hate these real-time bow camera recordings and would prefer the usual vlog with commentary – but other folk love them hence why I continue to upload them occasionally. If you’re one of the former, panic not; do not wail and gnash your teeth for another standard vlog will be coming along next.

Vlog 217: Not a vlog at all

Posted on June 22, 2020February 24, 2024 by David Johns

A “slow TV” (real-time) bow-camera recording of the trip from Kings Orchard Marina at Lichfield to Fradley Junction on June 21st 2020.

Vlog 207: Slow TV on the Macc

Posted on January 23, 2020February 24, 2024 by David Johns

This is a real time recording from the bow of my narrowboat from when I cruised up the Macclesfield canal in September 2019, from Hall Green stop lock to near Bridge 65. Towards the end there’s a bit of a pause while I waited for another boat to come through two bridges close together but I do move on again after that for a bit before finally coming to a halt.

194a Not A Vlog: Slow TV, Caldon Canal

Posted on October 24, 2019February 24, 2024 by David Johns

This is a BONUS VIDEO; not one of my regular vlogs. It is a real-time recording of a narrowboat journey on the Caldon canal from the water point near the Black Lion Inn to the western portal of Froghall tunnel.

185A. Not a Vlog: realtime cruising

No, this is NOT a vlog. Hence the title. No, there is no commentary, that’s deliberate. No, it wouldn’t be “better with music”. This video will not be for everyone – they never are – but for those who enjoy a few hours of uninterrupted slow TV from the bow of a canal boat: enjoy!
