This is a bonus video, not a vlog or suchlike but the bow-camera recording as narrowboat Nautilus Enterprise cruised from Crick Marina to Yelvertoft while we filmed for video #322. Hi David, I absolutely love your videos. They are a calming refuge amidst the swirling chaos. My wife wants to start watching after I’ve talked about them so much.
Would you be opposed to being featured as a character in a graphic novel? You’d be a sort of unflappable Horatio Hornblower type of captain called back to action for a canal-based national security emergency.
If some Special Branch representative has already enrolled you in something like this in real life (which, frankly, seems inevitable), then we can change your name so as not to spill state secrets.

Oh my, what an unexpected query. Umm, I don’t know what to make of that. I don’t think I’d want to be named as a character but you could perhaps loosely base one on a chap who does canal things?? Or does that spoil your idea?

Incidentally, I had forgotten that Horatio Hornblower actually had a short run as a canal boat captain in one of the novels. That’s probably common knowledge in your circles, but your videos helped give me a frame of reference for it.
