Vlog 378: Wood it fit?
In this episode I make a template for the new wood core of my boat’s transom and then cut it out of two sheets of marine plywood (and also explain why in the end I went with marine ply). The question is, having made a template that fits beautifully, will that mean the wood version will fit? Well, this is DIY…

Gentian is already moored at its end location but the videos of its journey will last until December so .. yes and no!!

No idea about the water so I’m just going to stuff loads of resin in there so that there’s no space for water to accumulate.

Make a paper pattern first then transfer it to the plastic.
But the plastic IS the template! I don’t see the point in doing it in paper as well.
My dad had bought a smaller wooden speed boat when I was a young teen. The motor seemed way too big for the boat in my inexperienced mind. One day in the marina the transom came off and sent the motor to the bottom. Was quite the mess rescuing everything.
Yikes!!!!! I shall be putting a very small motor on Twiggy!
