Vlog 46: Do Call Me Shirley
This was supposed to be the video from the Crick Show, so as to keep the show video timely. However, since I’ve been ill and off visiting family, the Crick video is only 1/3 complete, so have this one instead. It’s the next part of my travels after doing all those locks in the last one. I head out of Birmingham on the Birmingham and Worcester Canal – then take a hereto unplanned left turn onto the Stratford Canal and out towards the south east of the city.
David, I’ve been confined to quarters for fourteen days having been in contact with a positive Corvid friend. The vlogs are helping keep me sane but I’ve had to restrict myself to one month of vlogs per day otherwise I’m in danger of running out. Will I come across a “Get knotted” Vlog which would explain all the various knots used to tie up boats etc on the canals? I live at Bulbourne on the GUC Summit and walk the towpath and reservoirs regularly. I once walked from Little Venice to Gas Street Basin, I know I could have caught a train but being a poor man unable to buy a boat it was my best option. Thanks again for the vlogs. A series on ITV (speak to your past masters) would seem most appropriate.
Glad you’re enjoying them! Alas, there is no video about knots because I am *really* bad at them and wouldn’t wish to embarrass myself. As for my former masters, my tiny corner of ITV regional news has absolutely no sway with the network Powers regarding any series. Cheers though!
Wow Wow Wow ! This one was chock full of unique and interesting sights. The sights leaving Birmingham, Cube Building Condos,a rather immense Viaduct, Cadbury Chocolate Factory, Guillotine Lock Gate, Brandwood Tunnel, and finally, Lions Boat Chandlery! As an American, I take no offense whatsoever in your comments regarding the takeover of Cadbury Chocolate. It is sad when a quality product and name go downhill, probably in an effort to squeeze more profits. I do, however, highly recommend See’s Candy, an American mainstay in the world of chocolate.
