Vlog 261: Have I Got Cruise For You
There *will* be further cruises and videos, I promise – just not on my own narrowboat! This is Part 1 (probably of 3) of my trip from Kings Orchard Marina on the Coventry Canal, round to North Kilworth Marina on the Leicester line of the Grand Union canal, where the boat would be put up for sale (see the prior video by clicking here)

Hi David.
I’ve gotten totally hooked on the show, first on Amazon and now on YouTube. As I type this I’m blissfully watching the raw footage between whatchamacallit and whozitsky, which Is not something I ever thought I would do. (Sorry, I love the names of your towns but I can’t remember them.)
I teach a class in media careers at Long Beach City College via Zoom. I would love to have you on as a guest to share your real-world perspective with my students. It would just involve an hour on the Zoom answering questions from the students and myself.
If you’re interested, the next class starts in September. Good luck with the boat sale and home purchase and I hope to hear from you.
Hi. Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy the videos. I’m not averse to the Zoom idea but drop me a line closer to the time and we’ll see what my schedule is like! Cheers
Hi Dave – I have very much enjoyed your videos. Now you are (nearly) boat less, may I suggest a topic for a slightly different narrow boat related video? Jo Bell is the Canal Laureate for the UK (appointed by the The Poetry Society and the Canal and River Trust), and lives on a narrowboat. I have no personal contact with her but havinf just been reading her poetry, it might make an interesting video to interview about her narrowboat travels or lifestyle and intersperse it with some of her poetry. I think she might be contactable via her publisher, Nine Arches Press. Just a thought.
Cheers, yes not a bad shout that one. Thanks!
Excellent vlog David. Always nice to see your narrowboating exploits sir.. A fitting penultimate ensemble to your closing the book on this chapter of your journey. Looking forward to seeing the final live aboard/NOT mooring the cut instalment..
Seems like your trip thus far has been/is/was a nice way to say goodbye to your watery companion.. Thank you kindly for alowing us all to share in and get as much enjoyment out of it as you hopefully took away from it yourself.. :-)
Wishing you a fantastic weekend David..
Kindest regards as always.

What a very kind and lovely comment, thank you!
How nostalgic to see David cruising on his own boat. Very enjoyable, thank you for sharing it with us.
Thanks for following along!
I so enjoy these videos, and being a retired sign painter I especially enjoyed seeing the bird paintings on the side of the buildings in the beginning.
Thanks David…!
Thank you Jim. Hopefully I’ll have another video coming soon that will be of special interest :-)
