Vlog 387: Hot Stuff
In 2025, over a period of some months, two steam narrowboats, called Tixall and Emily Anne, had their boilers removed and their pipes taken out for replacement. This is the story of that epic job! Many thanks to Matthew and Dan for inviting me to film.

Hi David (and happy new year. Can’t remember if I’ve said that on your fireside video), neat video! I really don’t like that boat yard in Northwich, how they “double park” boats, only leaving single passing. Luckily, we didn’t meet another boat on our venture to / from Dutton back in June, 2023.

Double or triple mooring is very common not only at many wharfs but also at hire boat bases. You just have to squeeze past, as you say!
