Vlog 384B: Homeward Bound
On a sunny day in July, I embarked upon the final leg of my marathon journey from Lincoln to the East Midlands, bringing narrowboat Gentian to its permanent mooring “home” (from which I will now undertake weekend cruises). It was another glorious day, and busy on the canals too as we headed towards summer holiday season. Yes, this was filmed mid-July!

I awakened this morning in the far off land of Oklahoma in the USA to hear of the horrible breach on the Llangollen Canal at Whitchurch in Shropshire. I immediately went to Google Maps to ensure that you and the good ship Gentian were not at risk. Thank the Lord, it is clear that it is a goodly distance from your home marina. My prayers are ongoing for the people affected.

Too funny about narrowboat racing David. We had a similar experience our first trip. Just getting ready to make the left turn @ trevor basin (bridge 31) towards Llangollen we got behind a boater traveling at minus tickover. Same thing, we had to go to neutral several times before we made contact with his navigator we wanted/needed to pass. Successful event (fell in behind a group of 3 boats going normal speed) before we reached the narrows. Cheers!
