Hi David
I’ve heard you mention that you need a galvanic isolator. I, too, own a Sea Otter and I’m reasonably confident that they were all fitted with one at build. I can’t send a picture here, but if you want to email me I’ll send a pic of the one fitted on my boat. In my case it is situated under the mains isolator switch/consumer unit and should be a little grey box with a half moon scale with a green ‘Pass’ in the middle and a red zone at each end and a needle that shows what zone you are in.
Hope that helps.
Cheers. Mine’s one of the relatively early ones which didn’t have one fitted as standard, I believe, hence the in-line unit the prior owners were using. I am intending to fit a full isolation transformer instead.
So, the fridge. Does it only work when you’re plugged into the mains David? Surely it must work off of the domestic battery as well? My favourite roll – a cheese and pickle!
Cheers.
Yes, it works off the leisure battery so all good!
The easiest way to add drawers when there is no apparent room to build any, is to use something like these stuck to the underside of the counter top inside a galley cupboard…

For extra peace of mind, you could drill a few holes in the top of them and screw them to the underside of the counter top as well.
It’s how we added a couple of extra drawers in our boat galley and they’re still working and havent fallen off yet.
Thank you! I’ll have a look, cheers
Looking good David for the first day / night on the boat. Looking forward to seeing your new curtains!
Haha so am I. My sister has made me one pair to try first and then we can adjust any subsequent ones if they need tweaks.
What video do you talk about the otter you were working on and why did you get the recent one?
I was working on a Microplus and still have it. A Q&A video is coming soon.
when you talked about essentials, you didn’t mention cheese. is something wrong??
Cheese is an essential by default!!
