Vlog 122: New Year’s Honours
It’s the start of a new year and since there’ll be nothing much to watch on telly this New Year’s Day, I thought I’d throw out a few suggestions of utterly splendid YouTube channels for you to enjoy instead; these are some of the people I watch regularly and I hope you like ’em too. Happy New Year!

Dear Sir,
This may well be entertaining and interest to your gongoozlers. Quite like the keel vlog, vlog 14,1. See below:-
My name is Leo Sampson Goolden. I am a Boatbuilder, Sailor and Writer from Bristol, England.
Right now, I’m on a mission to rebuild a 107-year old English sailing yacht called Tally Ho. Designed by Albert Strange in 1909, she is a well-known and important historic vessel – but after many adventures she was left in a remote port in Oregon to rot for decades, despite some valiant attempts to rescue her. I bought her and moved her to the Olympic Peninsular earlier this year, and am now starting to rebuild her from the keel up. Eventually I hope to sail her back to the UK.
He is on Twitter & Facebook also. http://sampsonboat.co.uk/ http://www.sampsonboat.co.uk/tally-ho-will-sail-again/
Dear Sir,,
I have no apology in recommending this You Tube vlog to you; Narrow Boat Build and Fit Out, by Colin Jaques. He is currently Building the oak windows frames. He knows his stuff as carpentry is concerned, so his lack of skill with the filming is certainly excused as I am concerned. Love you David to meet up with him and his boat while still in build.
Excellent Vlog – like to see more about the old boats (inside & out) of the past as a special Vlog this summer?

Thanks, I’ll take a look.
Thanks for the info. The breaker-upper thingy is called, at least here in Oregon, a jackhammer. Strangely I actually own one which I bought when I had a mountain of concrete to break when we did a massive reno on our house. It is dreadfully hard on ones back. BTW. The oscillating saw you bought for the stovepipe episode is a life changer. When any tasks looms try to remember you have it and there is more than likely a way it can help you. I have had one for about six years and can barely remember life without it! Happy New Year from Hood River, Oregon USA!
Jackhammer! That’s it. Thank you. And yes, I love my multitool :-)
Hope you had a fantastic Christmas David and that you are looking forward to a healthy and happy … and eventful New Year. Your vlogs, commentary and your sense of the ridiculous were great to watch. I laughed along with you on many occasions and really felt part of your experience. Many, many thanks for the sharing of your experiences. I look forward to following along with you in 2018. Cheers
Hello Paul, thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoy the videos. Best wishes for 2018! :-)
David, have you done narrating for documentaries for television. I swear I have heard you on a couple of occasions, most recently on a series called “Nature’s Weirdest Events. ” If it is not you then someone who sounds just like you. The many times we have gone to visit our family near Manchester I have had a yearning to travel on a narrowboat. Enjoy your videos.
Sadly, it’s not me (though I’d happily do it and take the money :-) Glad you like the videos. Cheers!
