Vlog 363: The Lincs Effect
At last, on my second weekend aboard the boat since purchasing it, I had a sunny day and the time to take it out for a short “test cruise” to see how it went along. I turned left from Burton Waters marina and went the two miles to Lincoln whereupon I turned around and came back. It was a glorious trip!

Beautiful day to be on the canal David. Glad everything worked well!! Wish I were back on the canals, Cheers.
It was a glorious day indeed!
David,
We enjoyed your sunny first cruise and very happy that your engine compartment was absent of any of the fluids that you mentioned. Is it our imagination or is their more engine noise coming from this watercraft? Already anxious for your next video.
We miss your “what we used to call your fireside chats” when you were snuggled up inside your cabin with tea and biscuits and your coal burning heater was keeping you comfy on a cold winter day. We always enjoyed your relaxed sharing of your ideas and opinions during those recordings.
Thank you and have a nice weekend!
A lot of people are saying that about the engine but it sounds (and sounded) quiet to me but YouTube may be doing its wretched “stable volume” thing again for you which ruins the sound. I did a rant about it in one of my recent videos. Alternatively, my prior boat had a ‘trad’ stern where the engine was partially enclosed by steel cabinwork as well as deck boards whereas this being a cruiser stern has the engine immediately below my feet under just boards (though they are well padded). Plus microphones tend to ‘flatten’ sounds that in reality would sound more distant.
