Vlog 285B: Jolly fun, they say
Although normally prohibited to powered craft, with permission of the Cam Conservators in winter you can take a narrowboat onto the Cambridge “Backs” where the river Cam flows behind many of the city’s historic colleges.
Many thanks to Simon Judge for asking me along! See his website at scholargypsy.org.uk

Happy New Year David. . .
As usual i wish you all of the very best for 2023. May the very best of your past be the worst of your future.
Kindest regards,
Daren
Thank you and the same to you!
Hello David! I’ve told you before but I wanted to tell you again how grateful I am for you and your vlogs. My Christmas was rather sad this year, and as I usually do when I need cheering up, I watched some of your vlogs and felt better. They were older ones…from when you went through Harecastle Tunnel the first time. We were all a bit younger back then! lol Anyway, I hope you had a good Christmas and have a wonderful 2023!
Ah, I’m sorry to hear it’s been a bit upsetting for you, Christmas can be like that sometimes. Glad the videos have helped though and best wishes to you for 2023. Cheers!
Probably your best vlog yet David. Facinating insight to the different college buildings and their history.
But I wouldn’t fancy taking a steel narrowboat along the Backs with all of that ‘floating wood’ about!
Thanks Barry, certainly a unique trip
A splendid couple of videos David. Very enjoyable indeed, thank you.
Great, glad you liked them
What a stunning trip! Many thanks for recording, editing, posting for our enjoyment!
I’m glad you enjoyed them!
Well done David! Perhaps one of the most interesting CTC VLOGs. Thank you.
Thanks Howard, definitely a unique experience.
