Vlog 221: Bad Behaviour
Picking up from the previous video, I continue down the Staffs and Worcs canal from Acton Trussell, through Penkridge and moor outside Otherton Boat Haven. En route, I demonstrate how not to open a lock gate.

Nudging gates GENTLY is normal, I do it all the time, BUT please emphasize in your videos that you MUST be sure that the resultant movement of the beam arm will not knock over somebody standing beside it! Sometimes nudging is not permissable as there is no clear view of the arm (s).
Fair point!
Lock-lout hooligan!
Ok, it was just a nudge, I’ve done it myself after I had opened a gate and by the time I got back on board it had become less than fully open ….
I’m worried for you David, having binge-watched all of your vlogs over the last 6 weeks during lock-down it is noticeable that the colour of your hair has changed over the last 4-5 years. Your vlogs show us the gentile side of life on the cut but are there different stresses [like where to moor-up] that are maybe having an impact – is life on a narrowboat truly stress-free and relaxing?
Keep up the excellent work – splendid stuff ….
I think I’m just getting old!
Great Vlog. Like the red decking in the bow.
Thanks Bruce
EXCELLENT, GREAT!
Cheers!
Love the videos of your journies!
Thank you :-)
