Vlog 148: Lock ‘n’ Roll
Continuing my Autumn 2018 cruise down the Grand Union canal, I head from near Slapton lock to Marsworth, going through about nine locks and one swing bridge in the process. A lovely – but long (ish) day.

Ivinghoe Beacon start/finish of the Ridgeway long distance trail to Avebury
I was going to make the same comment so I will add the lock at Fenny Stratford was installed to control water loss. At that point you start the climb up the NW side of the Chilterns to the summit at Tring before descending the SE side and on to Brentford or Limehouse and the Thames.
The hills you could see are the Dunstable Downs, which are part of the Chilterns. If you look on the way back you may see the white lion carved into the hillside at Whipsnade Zoo.
Thank you!
