Vlog 143: September Sun
My autumn jaunt along the Grand Union canal continues as I take the boat from Stoke Bruerne (where I can’t get a decent 4G mobile signal) towards Cosgrove but I end up mooring in the lovely countryside. En route there’s an awful lot of pretty countryside to stare at.

Agree completely about the offside vegetation. We’ve been very disappointed this summer to find areas where the canal is narrowed to one boat width, or less, by masses of vegetation. Very awkward when another boat comes towards you especially when you’re on the other side to the towpath and the vegetation has sticks and branches in the middle of it. We’ve had a number of scratches along the side when trying to wait up in vegetation for an oncoming boat.
Yes, annoying isn’t it?
Another great video. We were on the GU about the same time, although I think we were several days ahead of you. Your video showed Ragweed. We went south with them through several locks. They’re Canadians who were due back at the marina on the friday. I’m looking forward to your future videos to hopefully see our UK families boat Reynardine.
Not sure if I’ve seen that one but I’ll keep an eye out!
Very tranquil and it seems not a lot of traffic. Always like your vlogs David…and the odd CRT grump.
Thank you!
